Our online privacy policy is outlined below. These policies apply to all People & Planet websites and e-mail lists, including Planetfriendly.net, GoodWorkCanada.ca, PlanetVolunteer.net, and the PetersPlanet website we sometimes use for surveys and other feedback.

Gathering and Use of Information

1. We will not collect personally identifiable information from you, other than what you supply to us on a voluntary basis.

2. In order to participate in some activities, you might be asked to provide some personally identifiable information. This could include:

• subscribing to e-mail lists
• posting jobs, events or other listings on our website
• online surveys or feedback forms
• making a payment or donation

3. People & Planet will not willfully disclose your personal information collected from any of our websites to any third party, without your explicit permission, except in the following cases:

• Information that you post to publicly viewable portions of our website, such as the calendar or job listings, is viewable publicly and could also appear in other websites or publications.
• If required to comply with the laws of Canada, we may be required to share information with law enforcement or other government bodies.
• Our e-mail lists are stored on separate servers (currently Yahoo! and Flora.ca; for details please see 4., below).

4. Our e-mail lists may be hosted by separate services which have their own privacy policies. We have inspected their privacy policies to our own satisfaction. For example, the GoodWork e-mail lists are currently hosted with Yahoo! Groups. Subscribers do not need to open an account with Yahoo! Groups. The only information that we forward to Yahoo! Groups is the e-mail address itself. Yahoo! Groups privacy policy can be found on their website. The People & Planet e-mail newsletter/list is hosted with Flora.ca. Flora has assured us that they take all precautions to ensure that their servers are secure and do not share subscribers' e-mail addresses with other parties. We reserve the right to switch to other list hosts/services if the need arises.

5. Our websites do not and have never used "cookies". If we start to do so in the future, it will be for the purpose of compiling statistics on how our site is used, without tracking or identifying individual users.
