2008 Conference & Trade Show

Mark Your Calendar for March 6-8, 2008!

The 8th ACORN Organic Conference and Trade Show will be held in Memramcook, New Brunswick. This central location is only two hours from Halifax and Fredericton, and 1.5 hours from Charlottetown. Itís also just 15 minutes from the Moncton airport.

You won't want to miss the conference kick-off, featuring Dag Falck, from Nature's Path (a proudly independent Canadian company and largest organic cereal producer in the world), and Pat Mooney, ETC Group and former winner of the Right Livelihood Award. This powerful duo will be talking about seed sovereignty and the multiple threats of genetic modification and nano-technology to organic farmers.

On Friday night, take time to enjoy the delicious offerings of the organic banquet, presentation of the Gerrit Loo Organic Achievement Award, and keynote address by Marc Schurman. Marc is the 2006 Outstanding Young Farmer winner for the Atlantic region; heís also part of the new generation who are introducing organic production to the family farm.

Accomodations - Hotel rooms at the Moncton and Sackville Coastal Inns are specially priced, including breakfast. They are only a short drive to Memramcook (about 15 minutes). To book, call 1-800-561-3939 (Moncton) or 1-888-704-7444 (Sackville).

The only remaining rooms at the conference facility are in the residence. Priced at $25/night. They are very "rustic" with shared baths, but it's sure to be a lot of fun! You can book by contacting the Memramcook Resort or by calling 1-800-268-2511.
