Intro Talk: How Volunteers Changed High Park: History & Mystery
Dagmar Baur will talk about the History of the Volunteer Stewardship Program and the magic inherent in environmental activism. It's a good opportunity to find out about the exciting work that volunteers have accomplished and get involved in upcoming walks, hands-on-restoration work, native-seed gathering and cleaning, learning cutting edge strategies for environmental gardening.
Dagmar Baur is a consultant and workshop leader specializing in native and heritage plants and seeds and writes about her interests for various publications. She has received a number of awards for developing the gardens at the Bain Co-op in Riverdale.

WHERE: HOWARD PARK TENNIS CLUB,
in High park off Parkside Drive.
Directions: The tennis club is near the intersection of Keele and Bloor West. Walk from Keele subway station or ride the 80 Bus one stop south to Indian Valley Crescent. College Streetcar Loop is just south of Club.
Keele becomes Parkside Drive south of Bloor. Look for tennis courts on the west side near the first set of lights (south of Bloor).
VSP meetings and events are held on the first and third Sundays of each month from 10:30 am to approx. 12:30 pm. Additional sessions will occur as needed in the spring and summer. All presentations are held at the Howard Park Tennis Club at 430 Parkside Drive. For all other sessions we meet in front of the Grenadier Cafe and go as a group to our work site. We will be happy to sign forms or letters provided to verify volunteer hours.

February 17 Howard Park Tennis Club - Sharon Lovett and Friends - “Stewardship and Gardening, Issues, and Opportunities” and "Downspouts and Native Plants, Discover the Connection" with Deborah Dale
March 2 Howard Park Tennis Club - Bohdan Kowalyk – “Heritage Trees of High Park, Talk and Walk” (dress for a walk in the park)
March 16: Boulevard Beds cleanup and/or Greenhouse work
NOTE: May 4: Native plant sale in front of the Greenhouse (new location)
