Zero Waste YYC Meetup - Presented by Plastic-Free YYC

What can you do to that broken item that you put aside, in hopes to learn how to get it repaired one day? What about that shirt that needs some stitching up, but you don't know how to? This month's Zero Waste Meet-Up is all about teaching you how to repair home items, so you don't need to toss them in the garbage, contributing to a less impactful lifestyle.

What is Repair Café?
A place where you can bring your broken items from home and a group of volunteers can help you repair them. You get to learn a new skill, and at the same time, you get to save an item from getting tossed in the trash. You can bring anything to get fixed from clothes to furniture, electrical appliances, bicycles, crockery, appliances, toys, et cetera. To learn more about them, follow their Twitter and Facebook accounts @townofokotoks or access their website

Repair Café – PART 2

Time: 6:00 pm MST
Location: Online – Zoom
Register here:
Description: After our team’s visit to the café, we will be speaking about our experience and opening the discussion up on why it’s important to repair and what impact it can have to fix things instead of replacing them.
We will be sharing our experiences, showing our repaired items, and letting you know more about this organization. We will also be interviewing one of the organizers, so if you have any questions, make sure to send it to us before November 21st – info (at)
We look forward to seeing you on November 26th!
