Black Walnut Harvest Workshop, with Humber Arboretum beekeeper    Sat Nov 9, 2019, Toronto, ON

Join Humber Arboretum beekeeper John Coffman for a workshop on native black walnut trees and the nuts they produce. Inspired by Johnís own family tradition of harvesting and preparing black walnuts, youíll learn how to identify these trees, what role they play in our local ecosystem, and how to harvest and prepare black walnuts.

For this hands-on workshop participants should bring:

- Boots
- Heavy gloves (these will get stained)
- A small container to take home some nut meats harvested during the workshop (eg, a small plastic tub)
- A hammer

Also, please dress in older clothes you do not mind getting dirty, and in layers that can be removed as the workshop has both indoor and outdoor components.
