Scarborough Green Fair    Sat May 12, 2012, Toronto/Scarborough, ON

Come to the SCARBOROUGH GREEN FAIR on Saturday May 12th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The fair takes place at Blessed Cardinal Newman Catholic High School, 100 Brimley Road South at Kingston Road. The closest intersection is Barkdene Hills and Brimley Road SOUTH).

There is something for everyone: green exhibits and products, gardening vendors, displays, nature walks, garden/nature workshops, tips for energy efficiency and renewable solutions and eco activities for children.

Subtitled "Biodiversity of the Community - Sharing our Resources" this event will demonstrate how you can create a greener school, home and neighbourhood to support Mother Earth! This yearís theme is Marine Biodiversity and Sustainable Energy. Come learn about neighbourhood Bee, Butterfly and Bird friends or join our gardening and nature workshops

Do you have a gardening question? Then stop by one of our local garden clubsí tables and ask an expert!

Want to learn more about how you can start green projects in your community then stop by the Live Green Toronto/Ecospark table and meet your LIve Green Toronto animator. And the LGTO volunteers will be there with city info and pamphlets.

Be a steward as part of our Shore Cleanup or join a nature walk along the Scarborough Bluffs. Kids! You will have your own Kidsí Zone where you can plant seeds, make your own arts and crafts, enjoy face painting and much more. Learn about turtles and frogs at the Toronto Zoo display! There will be lots of cool booths including worm and reptile demonstrations!

Bring in your electronic waste and they will be recycled by Ontario Electronics Stewardship. Please visit for a list of accepted electronics.

The Scarborough Green Fair provides the students with leadership opportunities and learning experiences that speak to the critical role that our Catholic schools play in promoting environmental responsibility.
The Fair is hosted by St Agatha's Stewards of the Earth, Blessed Cardinal Newmanís Treehuggers and Jean Vanierís Eco Club, with support from organizations such as Live Green Toronto, EcoSpark, Bullfrog Power, Toronto Zoo and Toronto and Region Conservation Authority.
