International Conference on Interdisciplinary Progress in Environmental Science and Management (July 18 - 22)    Mon Jul 18 to Fri Jul 22, 2011, Great Britain

THE 6TH ICEF

This conference (Newcastle University, UK, 18 - 22 July 2011) offers a major international forum for scientists, environmental managers and policy formers to debate 'interdisciplinary' environmental issues. The 6th ICEF aims to explore the current and potential future extent and nature of interdisciplinary research and management practice across the environmental domain. To address the overarching questions of the conference, 20 subjects are to be spread across: (1) Philosophy, (2) Science and methodologies, (3) Management and (4) Synthesis. The 6th ICEF is intended to be more in the nature of a workshop than a ‘formal conference’, and will be organised by the Foundation for Environmental Conservation jointly with local partners in Newcastle, Great Britain. Specific outcomes of the 6th ICEF are the peer-reviewed papers, a book, networking of key workers in the field from around the world and above all increased understanding of what ID approaches exist and how these may in future be applied to resolve environmental issues.
