VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY

Position: Pedal Powered Machines
Organization: Volunteer Latin America http://www.volunteerlatinamerica.com
Location: Central America

This project recycles used bicycles to build pedal-powered
machines, which support and help facilitate the work of
small-scale, self-sustainable projects. Volunteer
responsibilities include: assembling bicycles; building
pedal technology; assisting in the production of bicycle
manuals; delivering bicycles to communities; and assisting
with community projects (gardening, carpentry, animal
husbandry).

Volunteers should have work related skills in order to
participate (i.e. bicycle repair, welding, capable of using
power tools, technical illustration, organic farming, social
work, etc). In their spare time volunteers can go sightseeing
(volcanoes, lakes, mountain biking, etc), learn Spanish or
get involved in other community projects.

Volunteers receive free housing and transportation for
project related activities. Volunteers are responsible
for covering the cost of food.
