Problems Subscribing to GoodWork?

You should receive a confirmation request message, usually within a few minutes. After confirming, you'll receive a welcome message. On occasion this is slower and could take up to a few hours. If you do not receive the welcome message and/or do not begin to receive postings within the next few days, there are several possibilities:

(1) Just a typo?
Maybe you've mis-typed your e-mail address:
try again with the correct address.

(2) Did you confirm?
Yahoo will send you a "confirmation" message, usually within a few minutes. (Subject: "please confirm your request to join goodworkcanada"). You must reply to this message within seven days. Otherwise your request will be discarded.
Try again.

(3) Problems with anti-spam software
Your computer, network or ISP could have anti-spam or "firewall" software that has inadvertently blocked our messages. There should be some kind of "safe list" or "filter" that lets you specify the addresses for desirable lists and other mail that is not spam. Look under "options", "preferences" or "setup" for "spam safe list" or some such wording. Add our
current e-mail address or better yet, our domain: planetfriendly.net . You could also add goodworkcanada noospaaam yahoogroups.com . When you're finished, go to the GoodWork Subscribe Form and try again.

(4) Problems with Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail, or other web-mail accounts
If the account you're trying to subscribe is Hotmail or Yahoo, you probably will need to add our e-mail addresses (see above) to your "Mailing Lists" and "Safe List". Click "Options" near top right, or see Hotmail/Yahoo help, or
below. Otherwise the anti-spam software will probably block our messages.

If you still can't get your subscription to work...

(1) Let us know.
We may be able to help or provide other options.
Send us a message.

(2) Browse the archives often.
Most messages appear in the online listing
archives. Check them every few days.

Tips for Hotmail & Yahoo! Mail Users

Messages from lists and groups are generally sent to your "Junk" or "Bulk" folder not your inbox. As a result, you might never see our messages: they will be deleted or lost amongst all the spam. To receive our messages, please log onto your Hotmail or Yahoo account. Click Options, near top right. Then...

Hotmail: under Junk E-mail Protection, Mailing Lists, add planetfriendly.net . Then, under Junk E-mail Protection, Safe List, add the same address.

Yahoo! Mail: If SpamGuard(tm) is On, go to (1) Mail Options, Spam Protection; choose "Save these messages in the Bulk folder". Also choose "When I mark a message in the Bulk folder as Not Spam: Move the message to my Inbox". Click Save Changes then Continue to Options. (2) Then click Filters, Add. Filter Name: planetfriendly. From header contains planetfriendly.net : move the message to Inbox. Just to be sure, you might want to check your Bulk folder from time to time. If you see one of our messages, mark it as not spam.

Subscribe again. When you're finished the above, go to the GoodWork Subscribe Form and try again.

Use a "real" e-mail account. If you have your own computer, another option is to use a real e-mail account through your ISP, employer or school. Such accounts are also called POP mail. They generally are more flexible in how they deal with spam and other options (as compared to "free", web-based accounts).

Hotmail is Microsoft. Why avoid Microsoft for e-mail and online software?

We Never Send Spam

We don't send spam. We also never send attachments – all messages are text.
And we do not share our e-mail lists with others.

If you do get spam, you will notice that the From addresses are often forged. Spammers and viruses often do this. They get your address from your friends and coworkers who have been infected by the virus. So if you ever receive a message that says it's from planetfriendly.net, but it has a suspicious subject line or an attachment, it's probably a forged message. That is to say, it was not sent by us and has nothing to do with Planet-Friendly, GoodWork, or your subscription.
