Zero Waste Ontario Conference (Thurs.-Fri.)    Thu Jun 15 to Fri Jun 16, 2017, Orillia, ON

This one and a half-day conference addresses the challenges and solutions of creating a circular waste economy. It consists of three panels with subsequent question and answer sessions and a further opportunity to dialogue with panel members in breakout sessions.

The first panel will discuss the need for better business, environmental and economic models to achieve this goal. The second panel will discuss how food and organic waste can be separated from the waste stream. The final panel will discuss new manufacturing materials, processes and collection systems which can contribute to the circular waste economy. Glen Murray Minister of the Environment and Climate Change will be the keynote speaker.

The after dinner speaker is Douglas McKenzie-Mohr a canadian environmental psychologist of international recognition, who will address the challenge of how to alter community behaviour through his 5 step approach to social marketing.
