I2T2 Symposium: International In-Situ Thermal Treatment - Remediation and Recovery (May 30 - 31)
Tue May 30 to Wed May 31, 2017, Banff, AB
I2T2 Symposium - May 30-31, 2017:
The International In-Situ Thermal Treatment (I2T2) Symposium, with a theme of “Remediation and Recovery,” is a 2-day event to be held May 30-31, 2017 at the Banff Centre in Banff, Alberta.
"... the goal of the symposium is to share knowledge and learnings on in-situ thermal remediation and recovery technologies that will enable the Delegates to have an informed and unbiased understanding of how these processes might be useful tools in their industry..."
The symposium features:
• Keynote Presentation: Dr. Wenran Jiang, Director of Canada-China Energy and Environment Forum; Special Advisor to Alberta Minister of Energy; Senior Fellow of Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada; a Global Fellow at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington, DC; and Special Advisor on China to the US and Canada based Energy Council.
• 18 Sessions
• 1 Panel Discussion ‘Opportunities for Technology Transfer in In-Situ Thermal’ Panelists include:
o Dr. Rick Chalaturnyk, Foundation CMG Chair in Reservoir Geomechanics, University of Alberta;
o Dr. Jason Cole, Principal Technologist, CH2M Hill;
o Dr. Ian Gates, Professor and Transition Leader, University of Calgary;
o Dr. Jason Gerhard, Canada Research Chair in Geoenvironmental Restoration Engineering, University of Western Ontario;
o Mr. John LaChance, President, Mc2 USA;
o Dr. Xin Song, Professor, Chinese Academy of Science
• 13 Poster Sessions
• All Meals
• Networking / Social Event (held in conjunction with the May 31st Poster Session)
At the I2T2 Symposium you will have the opportunity to gain knowledge and insights on in-situ recovery technologies and in-situ thermal remediation processes. Many of the technologies and processes used in petroleum recovery and environmental remediation have similar challenges. This symposium will be a great opportunity to learn of the latest advances in these two areas and to share research outcomes and practical experience. Lowering costs, reducing environmental impacts, and improving project sustainability will be major themes of the symposium.
Sponsorship opportunities available.
