How Community Planning and Building Projects can be Catalysts for Regenerating Life    Mon Nov 28, 2016, Ottawa, ON

The CaGBC Ottawa Chapter has recruited Bill Reed, an internationally recognized architect and a leading authority in regenerative design and biomimicry, as this year’s keynote for our annual holiday party.

Bill is a founding Board member of the US Green Building Council and one of the co-founders of the LEED Rating System. Bill has also consulted on over two hundred green design commissions, the majority which are LEED Gold and Platinum and Living Building Challenge projects. He has presented at events throughout Europe and North America including Harvard, University of British Columbia, Universidad Iberoamericana, MIT, Princeton, and UPenn.

At our event, Bill will discuss some methods of achieving regenerative design, drawing from examples that are leading the movement globally. He will highlight projects where green building and community planning have been fully integrated with living systems. There will be a breakout session focused on regenerative design in Ontario that will specifically address challenges to regenerative design projects here in the capital region.

The evening will include a tour of the LEED® Platinum accredited Algonquin Centre for Construction Excellence (ACCE) and a networking social with hor d'oeuvres, drinks, and a cash bar. At this event, the chapter will also release its vision for 2017.
