Permaculture: The Great Reskilling Weekend Workshops (Mar 12 - 14)
Fri Mar 12 to Sun Mar 14, 2010, London, ON
The mission of these workshops is to help inspire, educate, prepare and support individuals in the London community for the transition that is sweeping the planet and help us to create a resilient lifestyle. Despite the gloom surrounding climate change, peak oil and the economy, people around the world are beginning to look towards new ways of living, in league with nature and in harmony with the planet.
To that end, this spring we are offering a variety of workshops collectively labeled 'The Great Reskilling' which includes everything from building soil fertility, the indoor kitchen garden, the bioregional herbal pharmacy, designing an urban forest garden to how to reconnect with the vital energy and teachings of Nature.
To 'Be the Solution' simply takes a little bit of effort and willingness to explore, create and 'think out of the box'.
What skills are needed to create and promote a more sustainable lifestyle, less dependent on fossil fuels and non-renewable resources. Join us and discover....
The Permaculture Re-skilling weekend is about teaching the art of living in dynamic relationship with Nature, with each other and with ourselves. It's about re-connecting with basic life-skills related to what we eat, how we grow our food, right through to sustainable relationships, economy, education and spiritual practices.
Climate change and oil issues are heavy issues. Reskilling means preparing for a low-energy future and providing for ourselves and our communities by growing, preserving, creating, building, and teaching new skills. By applying the permaculture principle - the problem is the solution - we will grow together new methods and technologies that support a life of abundance, joy and creativity.
The workshops are a way to build the Reskilling movement locally, teach sustainability skills and have fun.
